An Illinois woman’s life just changed forever — she’s the first Mega Millions jackpot winner of 2026! With a stunning $536 million prize, she’s now the second largest online lottery winner ever.
The lucky winner, who prefers to go by the pseudonym “Lucky Lady,” bought her ticket through the Illinois Lottery’s iLottery platform. And get this — she wasn’t even planning to play that day.
“I didn’t even plan to play. I had tried to buy a ticket online a week earlier but forgot to complete the purchase,” she said. “I even joked with my boss, saying, ‘It wasn’t meant to go through.’”
When she finally did buy a ticket, she went with Quick Pick numbers — and when her favorite number, 16, popped up, she just had to stick with it. That decision changed everything.
