North Carolina Lottery Winner Chooses $600,000 Cash Prize

A lucky North Carolina lottery player has officially claimed a $600,000 cash prize after deciding to take the lump-sum payment instead of annual installments.

King visited lottery headquarters on Monday to collect the winnings. Rather than receiving $50,000 each year for 20 years, the winner selected the one-time cash payout of $600,000.

After all required state and federal tax withholdings, King took home $432,066.

Here's what makes this game exciting:

  • Jackpot Millions launched in July.
  • The game features three $1 million top prizes.
  • Two of those $1 million jackpots are still waiting to be claimed.

The lottery also continues to support public education across the state. According to the North Carolina Education Lottery, Pitt County received $10.7 million in lottery funding for education programs during the past year.
